After two years of genocide, the reckoning with the complicity of mainstream Israeli media is only just beginning. In this panel, independent Israeli journalists who have been publishing in Hebrew in Local Call, in a volatile media landscape spurring disinformation and militarisation, will discuss their work amidst and against the genocide. The panelists will contextualise the work done especially during the past two years in which they published voices from the ground from Gaza, platformed voices of conscience advocating for human rights, and dealt with both journalists betraying their role and government attacks on the press. They will speak about their experiences, the challenges, and the stakes in Israel today.
