AI is no longer just a tool inside the newsroom; it's becoming a product that news organisations build, ship, and sell. Media organisations are now packaging journalism as AI products: subscriber-facing chatbots trained on archives, automated explainers, narrative generators, and personalised news companions.
This panel brings together innovators who've experimented with AI-driven journalism products from creator-led AI apps to membership-driven newsrooms. Drawing on their experiences with real-world pilots, failed experiments, and unexpected user behaviours, the panelists unpack the technical, ethical, and business realities of this shift. And lastly, should journalism organisations be building AI products at all, or are there better ways to deliver AI-enhanced journalism to audiences who increasingly expect it?
