To be resilient, news organizations need more than just one revenue source. This panel will discuss ways to make news organizations more independent of donors. The panel brings together media funders and grantees from the U.S. and Europe who focus on identifying additional sources of public-value revenue for journalism. Drawing from their practical experiences, the panelists will present models such as the "magic triangle" and offer guidance on transitioning away from solely or predominantly philanthropic funding.
