La Sezione Speciale 2025, curata dal giornalista culturale e saggista Antonio Gnoli, proporrà un’esplorazione della dimensione politica della Chiesa, di cui verrà composto un inedito ritratto storico e politologico attraverso il confronto con tre temi salienti: – I fondamenti originari della dottrina politica cristiana, con particolare riferimento al magistero di San Paolo e Sant’Agostino; – La secolare dialettica tra aspirazione universalista e fenomeni ereticali, analizzata tanto nella sua genesi storica (con la nascita complessa dell’Inquisizione, nelle sue diverse forme) quanto nelle sue manifestazioni novecentesche (a partire dal caso emblematico di Ernesto Bonaiuti); – L’evoluzione recente del pensiero economico-sociale della Chiesa, dalla Rerum Novarum di Leone XIII ai nostri giorni. Un itinerario che non mancherà di riflettere anche sul futuro prossimo di questa istituzione, e sulla figura ancora poco nota di papa Leone XIV. Un viaggio che Gnoli compirà insieme a quattro tra i più brillanti studiosi italiani del Cristianesimo, portando sul palco del Festival della Politica Enrico Cerasi (11 settembre), Gaetano Lettieri (12 settembre), Marina Benedetti (13 settembre) e Giovanni Maria Vian (14 settembre).
