Journalists increasingly rely on digital tools for collaboration and communication - but how do they decide on which tools to use, and how can they trust that they have a reasonable level of security?
In this workshop we’ll explore the various factors that influence these choices, and attempt to close the gap between the usability needs of journalists and the attributes of systems that can be considered technically secure. We’ll focus on whistleblowing systems in particular, but lessons learned will apply across a broad range of digital tools.

Kevin O'Gorman
Kevin O'Gorman is a staff engineer on the SecureDrop team at Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF). His involvement in digital security stems from his time working in various roles with media organizations, including the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and The Globe And Mail, where he led security workshops for journalists, and worked with FPF to implement the first Canadian SecureDrop instance. Kevin is based in Canada.

Il suo lavoro si concentra sulla progettazione di soluzioni tecniche e organizzative decentralizzate orientate alla sovranità digitale.
