Amos Oz
Amos Oz è uno scrittore israeliano, autore di romanzi e saggi. Laureatosi in letteratura e filosofia all’università ebraica di Gerusalemme, ha poi studiato a Oxford. Negli anni Sessanta, insieme con altri scrittori (A. Yehoshua, D. Grossman), ha aderito al movimento pacifista Shalōm ‘akhshāv (Pace ora). Nel 1987 si è trasferito nel Negev, dove insegna letteratura ebraica presso l’Università Ben Gurion. Per la sua attività letteraria ha ricevuto importanti premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui: il premio Bialik (1986), il Prix Femina (1989), il premio Israele (1998), che gli è stato assegnato nonostante le proteste della destra israeliana; il premio Internacional Catalunya (2004), il premio Príncipe de Asturias (2007) e il Premio Bottari Lattes Grinzane (2016).
