Matteo Battistini è professore associato di Storia delle Americhe presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali dell’Università di Bologna. È stato visiting scholar alla Columbia University di New York e ha svolto ricerche presso New York University e Yale University. È membro di redazione delle riviste Ricerche di Storia Politica e Scienza & Politica. Fra le sue recenti pubblicazioni si segnalano: Storia di un feticcio. La classe media americana dalle origini alla globalizzazione (Mimesis, Milano, 2020); Only Connect: The Political Manifesto of C.L.R. James for the United States and the World («Race and Class» 3/2026). In occasione del duecentocinquantesimo anniversario della Rivoluzione americana, Battistini curerà per Meltemi la traduzione italiana di C.L.R. James, American Civilization (1950).
